  vTA worked with the client, architect and engineer in a complex task of transforming a 44-acre industrial oil tank farm into an urban re-use development.  The design team’s mission was to create a package to submit to the city for a development permit.  Plans, elevations, sketches and imagery boards conveyed the concept of a Tuscan hillside village on the steep site.  The landscape design created plazas and courtyards with water-conserving cisterns as visually appealing elements. Also, the stone and cobble material for  retaining walls and paving enhanced the warm tones of the architecture. The proposed plant palette includes what you would find in a Tuscan garden, olive trees, cypress, lavender and rosemary.
