Professional Background

Doug has been a Napa Valley resident since 1984 (which almost qualifies him as a native) and joined vTA in 2005. As vTA's Controller, Doug is responsible for maintaining the firm's fiscal policies and overseeing the expanding financial systems for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledgers. Doug's duties include reporting to the president regarding the firm's fiscal operations and informing senior staff members on work progress and financial status of vTA projects. He also has frequent communications with outside suppliers, consultants, client counterparts, as well as maintains vTA's outside banking and accountant relationships.

Prior to joining vTA, Doug assisted a wide range of businesses throughout Napa Valley including sole proprietors, S corporations, C corporations, and limited-liability corporations with bookkeeping, tax records, and accounting services. One of the firms that Doug assisted while at his former employer was vTA. That experience, and prior knowledge of vTA, enabled Doug to make a seamless transition to his new controller position.
